“We will delight our customers on every visit and help get them where they need to go!”
7-Eleven’s Oklahoma Home
In Central Oklahoma, it doesn’t get any more local than 7-Eleven Stores. We were born here, we grew up here, and we’re woven into the fabric of our growing and changing state.
More than 64 years ago my parents, Bill and Carol Brown, moved their young family to Oklahoma City with an emerging business idea: a chain of conveniently-located stores that stocked all the things you want or need in the moment, from ice and refreshments to basic grocery staples. Family friends in Dallas, the Thompsons, had begun developing the 7-Eleven idea, and our family set out to do likewise in Central Oklahoma.
“Everything that’s special about 7-Eleven Stores has been carefully cultivated and handed down over six decades of love for Central Oklahoma.”
It was the early days of what would become a worldwide retail phenomenon: the Convenience Store. Today, no other Convenience Store brand is as renowned as 7-Eleven. Both 7-Eleven companies — one based in Dallas and the other based in Oklahoma City — have enjoyed remarkable success in their own ways.
I believe 7-Eleven in Central Oklahoma is special because of its deep, unchanged roots in the community. To this day, we remain a completely separate company from the 7-Eleven you’ll find outside of Oklahoma. Both companies proudly share the name and trademark of 7-Eleven, but only 7-Eleven Stores in Oklahoma have continued to be family-owned by the very same folks who had their hands in 7-Eleven’s earliest days.
Everything that’s special about 7-Eleven Stores has been carefully cultivated and handed down over six decades of love for Central Oklahoma. We are passionately focused on serving our community.
With our hard-working team of clerks, store managers and support staff, we’ve grown from Store #1, still in operation at the intersection of NW 23rd and Portland in Oklahoma City, to 111 locations in Central Oklahoma — and we’ve got a lot of growing yet to do! But we’ll never be so big that we don’t get to know our customers by name.
The 7-Eleven family welcomes you. We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve our Oklahoma home, and we hope you’ll make 7-Eleven your store.
